Sipes entered his first full year of competition in 2017, driving Megalodon in the Monster Jam Triple Threat Series Central.Liao's name is Mandarin for "double silvervine (cat powder)" (木天蓼, Mùtiānliǎo). During the series, Sipes would win the first overall event championship of the series in Nashville, and would go on to win the series championship, receiving an automatic invitation to Monster Jam World Finals XVIII. However, due to disclosed reasons, Sipes would be unable to compete in the World Finals, and would be replaced by Alex Blackwell. Despite this, he would still be present at the Pit Party. Sipes competed in the Monster Jam Triple Threat Series East in 2018. After winning the overall event championships for the series' first two events in Birmingham, he would go on to win his second Triple Threat Series Championship, receiving an automatic invitation into Monster Jam World Finals XIX. During the event, Sipes would qualify for thirteenth, and was eliminated in Round 2 of Racing by Ryan Anderson in Son-Uva Digger. ![]() He would go on to finish fifth in Freestyle. Following the World Finals, Sipes would eventually make his first stadium event appearance in Nashville.įor the 2019 season, Sipes would compete in the Monster Jam Stadium Championship Series 1. During the series, he won two Two-Wheel Skills Challenge championships back-to-back in Tampa and Indianapolis, as well as the Racing and Freestyle championships in Denver, and an overall event championship in San Diego. He would go on to finish fourth in the series standings, and was later invited to compete in main field of Monster Jam World Finals XX. During the event, Sipes qualified for eighth place, and was defeated in Round 2 of Racing by Bari Musawwir in Zombie Fire. He would also finish seventh in Freestyle. Following the World Finals, Sipes would briefly drive Megalodon Fire exclusively in Glendale in October, where he would win the racing competition. Sipes returned to compete in the Monster Jam Triple Threat Series for 2020, competing in the Triple Threat Series Central. During the series, Sipes would win all three overall event championships for all three shows at the series' opening weekend in Nashville, but would ultimately finish in the runner-up position, right behind Colton Eichelberger in Max-D. After the series abruptly ended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sipes would be furloughed by FELD Entertainment due to budget cuts as a result of the pandemic, but has not returned to competition since.
